The Master of Engineering in Mechatronics is a 12-month, intensive program following a modular structure. This full-time course includes two semesters of classroom instruction followed by a dedicated semester for a comprehensive Mechatronics project.
The M.Eng in Mechatronics offers a year-long, full-time curriculum organized into modular components. Students complete coursework across two semesters before undertaking an advanced Mechatronics project in the final semester. This capstone project requires substantial independent research with rigorous analytical components. The program features both required and elective courses, offering two specialization tracks: mechanical design or software/control systems. In total, students complete 12 modules throughout the program.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants for a Master's programme must normally have a first or second class Level 8 honours degree (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalent) in a relevant or appropriate subject, or equivalent prior learning* that is recognised by the University as meeting this requirement. Applicants must also satisfy the English Language Requirements of the University. The University reserves the right to shortlist and interview applicants as deemed necessary.
Completion of 240 ECTS/four years of a relevant five year undergraduate programme consisting of 300 ECTS from an European University or equivalent institution.
Applicants who do not meet the requirements above may be considered under the University of Limerick policy that allows for the recognition of Prior Learning, both formal and informal/experiential learning, non-accredited personal and professional education, work based training and employment experience.
