The Master of Arts in Irish Dance Studies is a full-time, one-year postgraduate course. This program examines Irish dance through cultural, historical, and practical lenses. Participants analyze scholarly works and dance techniques while conducting fieldwork on an Irish dance topic they select. The curriculum fosters collaboration with students from similar programs at the Irish World Academy. Designed to impart comprehensive understanding of various Irish dance traditions, the course also serves as excellent preparation for doctoral research in dance studies.

Qualification Requirements

A primary degree in a suitable discipline with first or second class honours or an approved professional qualification (Primary degree: Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland). An interview will be required in all cases, as well as an audition where necessary. Candidates may be required to submit additional audio visual and/or written material.
