The MA in Ethnochoreology examines dance within its cultural setting. This program offers comprehensive training in ethnochoreological theories and methodologies while situating dance within scholarly discourse. It serves as excellent preparation for students aiming to advance to PhD-level dance research.
The MA in Ethnochoreology explores dance through a cultural lens. Utilizing frameworks from Social Sciences and applying them through fieldwork, Ethnochoreology presents unique perspectives on Irish Traditional Dance, contemporary Dance, and global Dance forms. This interdisciplinary approach incorporates Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Regional Studies, and Education alongside other pertinent Dance Studies disciplines.
The program's objective is to deliver in-depth instruction in ethnochoreological principles and techniques while positioning dance within academic contexts. It creates a strong foundation for individuals pursuing advanced dance research at the doctoral level.

A primary degree in a suitable discipline with first or second class honours or an approved professional qualification (Primary degree: Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland).
