The M.Arch. program at SAUL provides an innovative curriculum and an accredited pathway into architecture for holders of undergraduate architecture degrees, with adjustable duration based on prior qualifications.
Our intensive yet adaptable graduate program is led by a diverse team of architects, writers, critics, historians, engineers, and philosophers. Founded in 2005, SAUL currently enrolls 140 undergraduate students from Ireland and internationally, including exchange students completing part of their studies here. The school operates from two Limerick locations: the primary studio sits at the University of Limerick's central campus by the River Shannon, while the SAUL Fab Lab occupies a historic Georgian building downtown. Our faculty brings global perspectives, with members originating from Limerick, Dublin, and international hubs like New York, Stockholm, London, Berlin, Scotland, France, Morocco, and Spain. These distinguished educators represent diverse architectural approaches, leading award-winning Irish firms such as Bucholz McEvoy Architects, Grafton Architects, and Urban Agency, while others contribute academic expertise across architecture, architectural history, literature, and geography, alongside professionals in civil engineering and local governance. SAUL advances research initiatives through its specialized SAUL Intelligence Unit, which collaborates on projects ranging from individual academic studies to large-scale partnerships with local government, industry, and university departments.
