Psychology explores the scientific understanding of mental processes and human actions. For over a hundred years, researchers have delved into the intriguing diversity of human cognition and behavior, making a Psychology degree a gateway to applying this understanding toward solving societal problems and enhancing wellbeing.
Through examining these and related inquiries, psychology professionals strive to develop actionable approaches to the numerous individual and collective difficulties encountered in daily life. Upon completing this program, you'll possess the foundational expertise and competencies needed for a professional journey in Psychology. As an accredited program, graduates qualify for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
This four-year honors degree offers a comprehensive foundation in psychological principles, progressing through core subjects mandated for PSI accreditation while enabling specialization through advanced topics in the final year. The curriculum spans social, developmental, biological, and cognitive psychology alongside personality studies, individual variations, and research methodologies. Students may also pursue international study options or psychology-related work placements during their degree.
A key program component involves mastering research design and implementation. Through hands-on lab sessions and collaborative research projects, you'll progressively build methodological expertise, culminating in an independent final-year research endeavor. We strive to foster intellectual curiosity about psychology's multifaceted nature while equipping students with analytical reasoning and empirical skills to examine human experience through a psychological lens.
