Journalism is a vital, thrilling, and ever-changing profession that reflects our society. The mediums for storytelling continue to transform, and at UL, we empower students to create and share narratives across digital and social platforms. We cultivate hands-on skills and analytical abilities, ensuring our graduates produce journalism grounded in fairness, precision, and real-world understanding.
Our faculty blends scholarly knowledge with extensive professional backgrounds from leading news outlets like The Irish Times, The Irish Examiner, RTE, and The Cambodia Daily International. Distinguished visiting lecturers include Fergal Keane, BBC's Africa Editor. Through specialized seminars, industry leaders—editors, correspondents, and media experts—share insights with UL journalism students about career paths. The four-year degree features a six-month internship with national/regional news providers and an international exchange program.
