The Electrical & Electronic Engineering program at NUI Galway focuses on three key research areas: Biomedical Electronics, Biometrics and Bio-inspired Electronics, Signal Processing and Communications, as well as Power Electronics and Energy Conversion.
Complementing these research focuses is a strong expertise in Embedded Systems Design, applicable across all Electrical & Electronic Engineering disciplines but particularly impactful in Biomedical, Biometrics & Bio-inspired Electronics and Signal Processing & Communications.
Through the College of Science and Engineering, students can pursue research-driven programs at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Post-Doctoral levels.

Honours degree from a recognised university or third level college or a Pass degree with at least three years relevant experience.

IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
