This interdisciplinary Master's program examines and analyzes the vital role of translation in modern society. Designed for bilingual students proficient in French, German, Irish, Italian, or Spanish alongside English, it enhances translation capabilities between these language pairs while highlighting translation's crucial position in discussions about cross-cultural communication.
Career Prospects
Alumni have successfully entered diverse professions such as government service, education, language services, and personnel management. In addition to refining translation expertise, participants cultivate versatile skills through group projects and presentations integrated throughout the curriculum.
Second Class Honours NQAI Level 8 degree or equivalent, with Second Class Honours Grade 2 or equivalent in each language.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
In other circumstances, those with a lower degree grade or who have relevant work experience in the field of Translation Studies will be considered.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
