The one-year, full-time MSc in Translation Technology at Dublin City University delivers cutting-edge technical training, a crucial requirement for modern translation professionals. This program accepts students with language combinations beyond those offered in the MA in Translation Studies (such as French, German, Irish, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese), using English as the shared language. Participants engage with diverse modules like Software Development, Translation Technology, Localisation, Audio Visual Translation, Digital Methods in Language and Discourse, and Computerised Terminology. Recognized by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation, DCU's MSc program belongs to the esteemed European Masters in Translation (EMT) Network, marking it among Europe's elite translation programs. For admission to the MSc in Translation Technology, successful applicants will have:
English language Requirements
Non-native speakers should have a degree in English or advanced English skills (e.g. IELTS 7.0 points, Cambridge Proficiency Pass or TOEFL 600/250 points). Applicants may be called for interview, and their levels of English tested.
CBTOEFL - Overall score 237.
TOEFL iBT - Overall score 92 or above.
English Test for Academic and Professional Purposes (ETAPP) - C1
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CAP) - Postgraduate: Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components.
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - Postgraduate: Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components.
Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) - 63 with a minimum of 59 in all components.
Duolingo - Duolingo will be accepted with a minimum score of 120 and a score of at least 110 in each subscore.
