The Master of Science (MSc) Research program equips students with comprehensive research training and the chance to conduct an independent investigation, culminating in a substantial thesis. This 90-credit research-focused degree may include supplementary coursework modules to enhance your study. Participants will refine their research expertise while undertaking a significant project under the supervision of faculty advisors and a research committee. The curriculum covers specialized research topics, methodology, academic literature review, as well as presentation and publication techniques. Upon successful examination, graduates must submit a finalized bound thesis for permanent archiving in UCD's library collection.
UCD upholds its dedication to fostering academic excellence by maintaining rigorous standards for education and scholarly inquiry. In alignment with this commitment, all research degree candidates enrolling from September 2019 onward must complete mandatory Research Integrity Training.
Full-time MSc researchers must complete their program within 3-6 trimesters (1-2 years), while part-time students have 6-12 trimesters to fulfill requirements. Prospective students may begin their studies in September, January, or May.
