This program meets the growing need for professionals equipped to create technological solutions for safeguarding air, water, and soil across established and emerging industries, with a focus on agri-food, bioresources, consulting firms, and regulatory bodies. Students will gain expertise in environmental engineering, risk evaluation, air quality control, waste handling, life cycle analysis, sustainable construction, energy systems, and ecological preservation. The curriculum fosters individual and collaborative skills in multidisciplinary environments while promoting continuous professional development.
Taught by a research-driven faculty including a European Research Council Fellow and six Marie Curie Fellows, the program offers potential industry site visits and internships. Academic coordinator Dr. Tom Curran has earned teaching and research accolades from UCD, ASEE, ASABE, and the distinguished Fulbright TechImpact Award. The UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering secures approximately €3 million in annual research funding.
