Evolution is a fundamental process in all living systems, serving as the cornerstone theory that connects all biological disciplines. By studying and quantifying this process, we can reveal life's history and understand the origins of biodiversity. Our Genetics and Evolution research initiative explores evolution across various timescales through morphological, life-history, and molecular genetic approaches. What sets our program apart is its interdisciplinary framework. We investigate evolutionary and genetic mechanisms in both flora and fauna, employing techniques from paleontology, phylogenetics, population genetics, developmental biology, host-parasite relationships, eco-morphology, behavioral studies, and comparative genomics.
