Our Master of Public Health (MPH) program was created to address the growing need for skilled public health professionals both in Ireland and internationally. This prestigious course will enable you to tackle public health issues through investigation and evaluation, regardless of your career background.
Upon completing the program, you'll gain essential knowledge and specialized abilities to create meaningful impact in public health. This intensive 12-month program follows a structured, full-time format.
Program Objectives
After successfully finishing the MPH program, graduates will have the capacity to:
Evaluate public health theories and challenges critically,
Formulate perspectives on how social, political, and economic elements influence population health,
Show proficiency in fundamental public health disciplines such as epidemiology, infectious diseases (including healthcare-related infections), biostatistics, behavioral sciences, and social policy,
Interpret and integrate research findings into public health practice,
Develop advanced expertise in your selected specialization (health protection, health promotion, epidemiology, or biostatistics),
Present coherent arguments in both written work and discussions,
Apply various research methodologies accurately with proper data interpretation,
Engage in thoughtful evaluation of personal and peer learning approaches,
Complete a capstone research project demonstrated through a minor Dissertation.
All applicants are required to meet one of the following:
Possess a minimum Second Class Honours Grade I in a primary honours degree (NFQ Level 8) in a relevant subject area Or
Possess a minimum Second Class Honours Grade I in a postgraduate diploma (NFQ Level 9) in a relevant subject area.
Relevant subject areas are Biological Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Public Health and Social Sciences.
Duolingo English Test: DET 120 (with a minimum score of 110 in each individual section)
IELTS: 6.5 Overall; 6.0 Individual Skills (academic version)
TOEFL iBT: 90 Overall; Listening 20; Reading 19; Speaking 21; Writing 20

176 overall with no less than 169 in each element of the test
Pearson PTE: Minimum score of 63 with no section score below 59
