The Children's Studies (College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies) and Paediatrics (College of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and Health Sciences) departments have collaborated to create an innovative postgraduate program in Adolescent Health. As the first such program in Europe, it offers interdisciplinary education in adolescent health through a public health lens. Designed for educators, social workers, youth leaders, coaches, and healthcare providers, this program equips professionals dedicated to enhancing adolescent health and wellness.
This program examines the distinct challenges and possibilities adolescents encounter during their transition from childhood to adulthood. It equips professionals with specialized knowledge and tools to better support adolescents, strengthening their professional interactions and deepening their comprehension of this age group's requirements.

Qualification Requirements

Applications to the MSc in Adolescent Health will be evaluated by the programme board which will review a range of criteria, including the applicant’s academic record, relevant professional experience, and overall motivation and suitability for the programme. Successful candidates will have a strong undergraduate record with a minimum of a 2.2 in Level 8 in the social sciences, health sciences, medicine, or a cognate discipline. Applicants with a Level 7 with extensive experience working with adolescents will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants are also required to submit a Personal Statement that highlights their commitment to the field of adolescent health. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation. Applicants should also include a resumé.

English Language Requirements

IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
