Our Higher Diploma in Art History is designed for graduates, particularly those with backgrounds in Arts or Sciences, seeking an intensive one-year (full-time) or two-year (part-time) program in art historical studies.
This HDip perfectly suits candidates who:
possess a keen interest in art history but lack formal academic training in the field,
work in arts-related professions and seek formal qualifications,
need a foundation course to pursue advanced art history degrees like the MA in Art History or research programs (MRes/MPhil/PhD) at UCC. (Please note: HDip completion doesn't ensure admission to graduate programs.)
It is intended for those who already have a 3- or 4-year primary degree, preferably in the area of Arts or the Sciences, and who wish to study the subject History of Art intensively over one academic year. The Higher Diploma in Arts is a conversion programme and applicants would not normally have studied the relevant subject to Honours Degree level previously.
