Some of the most pressing global challenges today require insights that bridge cultural understanding and technological expertise. Trinity's M.Phil. in Digital Humanities and Culture equips students to address these complex issues across diverse settings - whether they aim to enhance humanities scholarship through data analysis and visualization, investigate digital cultural preservation in museums and archives, or contribute to developing more human-centric technologies.
Digital humanities brings together specialists from history, arts, languages, computer science and engineering to revolutionize how we interpret our world. These interdisciplinary scholars not only uncover patterns in human behavior and expression but also create tools to advance such discoveries. Our program distinguishes itself by equally valuing two crucial dimensions: how technology can serve humanities inquiry, and how humanistic perspectives can guide ethical technology development. Through strong partnerships across academic departments and with library/technical teams, we offer an unparalleled learning environment. The dynamic exchange of ideas between students and faculty from varied disciplines fosters unexpected breakthroughs that expand our collective knowledge.
Applicants should have a good honours degree (at least an upper second, GPA of at least 3.3) in any of the disciplines of the humanities.
