The Law School is deeply dedicated to upholding and enhancing its standing for thorough legal scholarship and research, both nationally and globally. Dynamic research forms the core of the Law School's ethos. Faculty members pursue studies examining Irish, European, and International legal progress, alongside the interplay between law and society. This involves rigorous theoretical exploration and critical evaluation, resulting in research published by top-tier national and international academic publishers. The Law School supports several specialized research clusters: Constitutional Governance and Social Change, Corporate Law, Governance and Capital Markets, Crime and Punishment, Private Law, and Technologies and Society.
The School also prioritizes research that informs public policy discussions and legislative improvements. This reflects the Law School's commitment to broader societal engagement. Faculty members possess research-driven knowledge across diverse fields, such as: Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Environmental Law, Financial Services Law, Intellectual Property Law, Equity, Torts, Contract Law, European Union Law, International Law, Human Rights, and Technology Law. The Law School oversees the Dublin University Law Journal (DULJ), a premier peer-reviewed legal publication in Ireland.
Postgraduate work in Trinity College Dublin is very academically challenging and as a result the University has high academic entry requirements. Applicants will need to hold at least a 2.1 honors degree from an Irish university or equivalent result from a university in another country; a fluent command of the English language. Display a high level of competence in the English language in one of the examination systems recognised by Trinity College Dublin.
