The School of Religion, Theology, and Peace Studies addresses humanity's pressing questions by examining how religion, peace-building, and theology function in both historical contexts and modern society. Dedicated to interdisciplinary approaches, scholarly excellence, open dialogue, and community involvement, the School achieves its mission through education, partnerships with external organizations, and academic investigation. The School comprises two main areas: (1) Peace Studies and (2) Religious Studies, with the latter encompassing: Biblical Scholarship, Comparative Religion, Moral Philosophy, and Christian Theology - incorporating Catholic Theology and Ecumenical Studies. Additionally, the School is gaining recognition for its work in Jewish, Islamic, and Buddhist Studies. Graduate researchers may focus on Peace Studies, any Religious Studies specialization, or explore the dynamic relationships between these disciplines.

Qualification Requirements

Postgraduate work in Trinity College Dublin is very academically challenging and as a result the University has high academic entry requirements. Applicants will need to hold at least a 2.1 honors degree from an Irish university or equivalent result from a university in another country; a fluent command of the English language. Display a high level of competence in the English language in one of the examination systems recognised by Trinity College Dublin.

  • TOEFL: 88 internet-based, 570 paper-based, 230 computer-based
  • University of Cambridge: Proficiency Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2), Advanced Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE Academic: a minimum score of 63 to be eligible (with no section score below 59)
