The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy comprises four departments: Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and Philosophy. With around 70 full-time faculty members and postdoctoral researchers, the School maintains a strong global research reputation across all its departments. Its graduate programs include both taught Master's degrees and doctoral degrees. Each department provides PhD candidates with comprehensive training in their fields along with the chance to produce innovative, top-tier doctoral dissertations.
Postgraduate work in Trinity College Dublin is very academically challenging and as a result the University has high academic entry requirements. Applicants will need to hold at least a 2.1 honors degree from an Irish university or equivalent result from a university in another country; a fluent command of the English language. Display a high level of competence in the English language in one of the examination systems recognised by Trinity College Dublin.
