Trinity's Physical Sciences (TR063) is a four-year program designed for problem-solvers. From exploring distant galaxies to developing advanced lasers and nanomaterials, this degree equips students with skills for careers in research, industry, or business.
The School of Physics leads pioneering research that drives societal progress. Our collaborative, interdisciplinary approach—spanning national and international partnerships—shapes both our teaching methods and students' perspectives. During the fourth year, students undertake a Capstone research project, working in our advanced facilities or with global partners across the US, UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Beyond core subject expertise, the program cultivates transferable skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and analyzing complex mathematical/physical systems—qualities highly sought by employers. Alumni from diverse industries regularly return to share career insights, while student societies organize job fairs. The School's annual Alumni Careers Networking events offer firsthand accounts of graduates' professional journeys.
Our physics programs hold accreditation from the Institute of Physics (Ireland/UK), enabling graduates to pursue Chartered Physicist status. Trinity's 2017 admission to LERU (League of European Research Universities) reflects our excellence in education and innovation—a standard you'll experience throughout our physics curriculum.
