Early Irish refers to the language spoken in Ireland from its earliest documented records until around 1200 AD. This course explores both the linguistic aspects and literary works, tracing their development from the introduction of writing with Christianity's arrival to the creation of significant saga manuscripts during the 12th century.
Applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. General matriculation requirements include pass grades in English, mathematics and a language other than English. Additional requirements may apply for some courses.
