This Level 7 Bachelor's Degree Add-On program enhances students' expertise in culinary arts. Participants will gain essential critical thinking and practical abilities needed to excel in diverse chef positions, culinary ventures, food business development, and food innovation leadership.
Instruction takes place in our state-of-the-art facilities at TUS Athlone Campus, featuring:
Two full-scale production kitchens
Three dedicated teaching kitchens plus a specialized pastry kitchen
A 120-capacity lecture and culinary demonstration theater
A modern 100-seat training restaurant
An operational training bar with license
Spacious open-concept reception area
The Department also maintains a polytunnel, worm composting system, hydroponic propagation unit, and vertical aeroponic tower gardens.
Mandatory additional costs include TUS uniforms, safety footwear, knife sets, and other equipment required during the initial college week.
A minimum of 5 O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English/Irish.
