Public relations involves strategic communication efforts, serving organizations or consultancy clients to connect with key audiences and stakeholders. From product launches and media events to investor relations and executive coaching in corporate social responsibility, these communications foster meaningful dialogues that strengthen relationships and safeguard reputations.
Our MAPR graduates grasp not just the content of communication, but its purpose and societal influence. They navigate the crossroads of business strategy, public policy, and community engagement, employing diverse methods to convey messages effectively.
As Ireland's longest-running public relations master's program, the MAPR holds unique accreditation from the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK), and the Public Relations Society of America - providing our graduates with distinguished professional standing.
Entry is confined to holders of an honours bachelor degree (2.2 grade or higher).
Prospective candidates should complete an application form for this course either on-line or by post from the Postgraduate Admissions Office at DIT. Qualified applicants may be invited for interview in late May-early June. Selection is based on the candidates understanding of and motivation for a career in public relations. Those completing their primary degree this year may be offered a place subject to attaining a 2:2 honours degree.
