Environmental engineering focuses on applying scientific and technical principles to enhance and safeguard our planet's environmental health. Professionals in this field address sustainability challenges, ensure clean drinking water supplies, manage wastewater treatment and disposal, develop flood prevention systems, enhance air and noise conditions, create eco-friendly urban drainage solutions, remediate polluted sites, and assist both communities and industries in reducing environmental impact.
While often considered a specialized area within civil engineering, this discipline maintains its own distinct identity - a perspective reflected in this course's design.
Hands-on learning opportunities through practical sessions complement continuous evaluation of reports, designs, and projects, alongside mid-term and final exams. The Department maintains collaborative relationships with institutions across Europe, facilitating student exchange programs with partner colleges in France, Germany, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
