This studio-focused program equips students for careers in modern art, teaching them to create, experiment, investigate, and critically analyze artwork. Participants will examine and work with diverse mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, performance, sound, video, and digital media across various contexts. The program fosters experimentation with multiple artistic forms to cultivate each student's unique creative approach.
Individual artistic growth is central to this course. Learners gain insight into working artists' techniques and perspectives while receiving guidance to situate their creations within art historical traditions and current critical discourse.
Students can select from numerous artistic disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, digital media, sound, printmaking, performance, and drawing, while receiving training in the College's well-equipped workshop facilities and processes.
