For those passionate about physics and its applications in biomedical sciences, this program is ideal. Physics with Biomedical Sciences combines fundamental physics concepts with chemical, biological, and life sciences, while introducing you to cutting-edge biomedical advancements. Your education will include lectures, tutorials, and hands-on experience in our advanced laboratories. With small class sizes and instruction from our renowned faculty—who are actively engaged in groundbreaking research—you'll receive personalized attention. During your third year, you can choose between an extended hospital internship to gain real-world medical experience or a research placement at DCU. Another option is an industrial placement focusing on medical/biological instrumentation, biotechnology, or optical diagnostics. Graduates will be prepared for diverse careers in biomedical instrumentation, medical physics, image processing, or laser/optical medical systems. You could also pursue design or management positions in the expanding biomedical, biotech, or healthcare industries. Additionally, this program provides a foundation for advanced training in medical physics, leading to roles as a hospital physicist or PhD research in the biomedical sector.
