Biotechnology utilizes scientific and bioprocess engineering concepts to create materials through biological means. For instance, biotherapeutic medications produced from mammalian cells currently address numerous illnesses and enhance patient health. You'll develop a strong background in genetics, cellular biology, immunology, microbiology, bioinformatics, and bioprocess engineering, along with hands-on lab experience and essential communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. During your final year, you'll choose to specialize either in research or explore the biopharmaceutical sector further. In your third year, you'll undertake a nine-month INTRA industry placement, allowing you to implement and expand your expertise in practical settings. Graduates are in high demand by biotech firms because of their distinctive capabilities. Potential career paths include opportunities in biopharmaceuticals, brewing, or medical diagnostics fields.
