Curious about applying scientific methods to create positive change? Analytical science focuses on detection and measurement, impacting our daily lives through medicine purity tests, industrial waste tracking, and forensic lab examinations. In our data-rich world, analytical professionals help interpret information and address crucial challenges. This multidisciplinary program covers both theory and practice in chemical, biochemical, and microbiological analysis. Your first year builds foundational knowledge in chemistry, biology, math, and physics while providing practical lab experience. Starting in year two, you'll concentrate on analytical science, then specialize in either chemical or biological analysis during year three - which also includes valuable INTRA work placement experience. Your final year emphasizes advanced techniques and applications, culminating in a full-semester project that hones your problem-solving skills. Graduates find opportunities across diverse fields including biopharmaceuticals, public health, cosmetics, manufacturing, brewing, environmental protection, government, and education. Career paths may involve process development, quality assurance, or validation positions in settings like chemical labs, forensic facilities, medical research centers, hospitals, or production sites. The program also prepares you for advanced studies in research or education.
