The Bachelor of Education program equips you for a fulfilling profession as a Primary School Educator, a position that profoundly influences young learners' lives. As an elementary teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing children's intellectual growth and personal development. This degree cultivates competent and innovative teaching professionals. The Bachelor of Education (Primary) provides not just academic expertise but also essential leadership and interpersonal abilities for educators. You'll gain insights into child learning processes and acquire classroom engagement strategies. Beyond mastering primary curriculum subjects, you'll expand your global perspective through dynamic, interactive instruction. Graduates qualify to teach across all primary education levels. The program includes specialized Religious Studies & Religious Education certification, preparing you to implement the Follow Me curriculum used in Church of Ireland, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Society of Friends affiliated schools.
Six subjects must be presented, at least 3 at GCE A Level with the remaining subjects at GCE AS or GCSE Level. The six subjects must include Irish, English and Mathematics. A subject may be counted from only one of the examinations GCSE, GCE AS Level or GCE A Level.
The minimum general entry requirement grades are as follows: GCE A Level C in Irish: GCSE C in both English and English Literature or GCSE B in either English or English Literature; GCSE D in Additional Mathematics or GCSE C in Mathematics; GCE A Level C in two further subjects; GCSE C in one other subject.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or have an equivalent qualification.
