The Master of Science in Health Psychology (NFQ Level 9, 90 ECTS) is a full-time one-year or part-time two-year program designed to equip students with both theoretical foundations and practical skills for effectively applying psychological principles to foster health promotion and disease prevention. This curriculum explores diverse specialized subjects, offering insights into psychological theories and their role in health and illness, while demonstrating their real-world applications across individual, community, and global contexts.
Students will examine human behavior through individual, social, and biological lenses, gaining both theoretical and methodological expertise to evaluate interventions and devise tailored health solutions. Coursework emphasizes professional ethics, advanced research techniques, and practical theory application, enabling participants to refine their Health Psychology competencies. Additionally, the program features optional capstone pathways (30 ECTS) for either research placements with a minor thesis or an in-depth major dissertation. Graduates will significantly strengthen their research abilities through rigorous analysis and evidence-based problem-solving approaches.
