Our MA and MSc alumni apply their expertise across various fields such as environmental policy development, refugee support services, eco-tourism initiatives, government roles (including positions in labor and development ministries and municipal governance), peace advocacy, and secondary/post-secondary education.

This program stands as one of Canada's premier Geography graduate offerings, with particular strengths in both physical environmental systems and critical human geographical studies.

Students pursue field research across diverse global locations from polar regions to tropical zones, while also working in York's specialized laboratories for water systems, geospatial analysis, climate science, and ecosystem chemistry.
