As one of Canada's top Geography graduate programs, we excel in both biophysical processes and critical human geography studies. Our students conduct research across diverse locations, from the Arctic to Africa and Asia, while also utilizing York University's advanced facilities for hydrology, GIS, remote sensing, climatology, and biogeochemistry.
You'll become part of a vibrant community of 65 graduate students guided by over 30 faculty members affiliated with prestigious research centers such as the City Institute, Global Labour Research Center, Centre for Refugee Studies, Centre for Feminist Research, York Centre for Asian Research, and Centre for Research on Latin America & the Caribbean. Every graduate student receives financial assistance through assistantships or scholarships, with many additionally benefiting from faculty research grants to support their fieldwork.
