This program emphasizes practical applications of economic theory. We provide both a one-year master's degree program based on coursework and a PhD program. Graduate students benefit from outstanding resources, including libraries with subscriptions to all leading economics journals and 24/7 accessible computer labs.

Students can utilize three high-performance Unix servers running sophisticated computing applications including Gauss, S-plus, Garch, Wavelette, SAS, Stata, IMSL, and Unix-compatible versions of Maple and TSP.

The MA program spans one year, commencing in mid-August with the GS Economic 5000 0.0 Mathematics for Economists course. This mathematics course runs daily from Monday to Friday, 8:30-11:30 am, with tutorial sessions from 12:30-2:30 pm during a three-week intensive period. A final examination concludes the course, and successful completion is mandatory for progression in the MA program.
