Fundamentally, economics explores how people make logical decisions when faced with limited resources and conflicting priorities. These decision-making scenarios affect everyone's daily life, both individually and collectively. Beyond analyzing choices and how people interact, economics investigates critical societal issues like healthcare access, environmental pollution, resource scarcity, economic inequality, welfare programs, and taxation policies. While addressing social challenges, economic principles also find applications in various business sectors such as employment relations, financial institutions, and global commerce. An economics education differs significantly from business studies. Business programs teach specialized skills for immediate workplace needs, whereas economics is a social science - a framework for examining and interpreting societal patterns. Economics education prioritizes cultivating analytical thinking and personal intellectual advancement over job-specific training that might lose relevance in an evolving job market.
