York's Biology program, the university's oldest science program, features globally renowned faculty known for their teaching and research excellence. Biology explores all living things, from microscopic molecules to entire ecosystems. Students can select from a wide variety of courses spanning different biological disciplines or focus on specific areas like molecular biology, genetics, ecology, or physiology. The program is available as both three-year and four-year degrees, with numerous double major and major-minor combinations.
Students can also pursue an International BSc (iBSc), pairing Biology studies with global coursework, cultural immersion, and language learning. This program prepares graduates for diverse careers in medicine, biotech, research, wildlife biology, and various biology-related sectors in Toronto and worldwide.
