York University takes pride in educating future scientific leaders. Our Mathematical Biology program stands as Canada's sole undergraduate offering in this field. We equip students with hands-on experience, essential skills, and theoretical foundations to become specialists in applying mathematical and statistical sciences to biological research.
The Mathematical Biology faculty comprises ten distinguished professors specializing in critical areas including: disease modeling (COVID-19, SARS), healthcare resource prediction, environmental impacts on ecosystems, agricultural pathogens, invasive species dynamics, and science communication for policy development.
Our professors hold key roles with organizations such as Health Canada, the CDC, CDC-Africa, the Canadian Black Scientist Network, the Center for Disease Modelling, and various private sector partners.
