Honours degree programs require students to complete a research project, which can center on laboratory investigations, systematic literature reviews, educational outreach initiatives, or entrepreneurial ventures, tailored to individual interests and professional aspirations.
Numerous undergraduate students participate in research opportunities via Memorial University's Career Experience Program (MUCEP), ISWEP, the Student Undergraduate Research Award (SURA), and various summer research initiatives. Current research focuses span cancer progression studies, immune system development, protein structure analysis for pharmaceutical applications, small RNA's role in gene regulation, and the function of chemical signal-detecting proteins in health and disease.
