The Gender and Women’s Studies Program teaches you to examine how gender intersects with race, class, age, ability, and sexuality across various aspects of society—from popular culture and daily life to art, science, law, politics, economies, and global cultures.
For over 30 years, our distinguished faculty have pioneered research on women and gender in Canada and worldwide. Through thought-provoking courses, we examine feminism's relationship with race, sexuality, indigeneity, class, and ability. Discover how food systems reflect neoliberal power structures, learn activist strategies to combat systemic violence, and investigate how contemporary issues affect BIPOC communities both locally and globally, including the influence of heteronormativity and whiteness.
