Delve into metaphysical, epistemological, ethical, and political inquiries concerning identity, free will, and social structures. Our Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy stands as Canada's sole program with a dedicated emphasis on examining concepts of selfhood, interpersonal connections, and the essence of human autonomy.
Philosophical explorations of identity and agency intersect with fundamental philosophical disciplines. While our program maintains its unique thematic concentration, our intimate graduate seminars and student research initiatives encompass diverse classical philosophical domains. The program attracts scholars interested in metaphysics, epistemology, or philosophy of mind (such as studies on narrative identity, cognitive agency, or determinism) alongside those focused on political theory and ethics (including topics like cultural pluralism, environmental ethics, or virtue theory). This unifying theme fosters meaningful dialogue among students from varied philosophical traditions and specializations, enabling mutual intellectual growth.
