The interdisciplinary Master of Arts (MA) in Cultural Analysis and Social Theory (CAST) is a one-year intensive program offering an engaging graduate experience within a close-knit academic environment.
This distinctive program unites students from diverse educational backgrounds to explore modern societal and cultural challenges while broadening their expertise and honing sophisticated research and communication abilities.
Key Program Features
Career growth through the program colloquium, featuring specialized research seminars, instructional development sessions, and academic presentations by Laurier faculty and external experts.
Involvement in research team initiatives. Participants have helped coordinate global and regional conferences, engaged in intensive workshops with guest academics, and showcased their research at student symposiums.

Students must have the following:
English Proficiency
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 89, with minimum skill scores of 21 in each of the skills tests (speaking, writing, reading and listening).
Paper-based TOEFL: minimum of 573.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum score of 7.
Pearson Test of English (PTE): minimum score of 60.
The Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment: minimum score of 70.
