The Developmental Psychology PhD program at Laurier involves collaborating closely with a faculty advisor to conduct original research that advances knowledge in a specialized area of developmental psychology.
Instead of mandating comprehensive exams, Laurier's program requires doctoral candidates to undertake two substantial research projects under the guidance of faculty members other than their main supervisor. These projects enable students to broaden their expertise by working with different mentors, exploring alternative research methods, and engaging with diverse academic literature - ultimately enhancing their research portfolios through conference presentations and publications across the wider field of developmental psychology.

TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Home Edition: minimum score of 83, with minimum skill scores of 20 in each of the skills tests (speaking, writing, reading and listening).
Paper-based TOEFL: minimum of 560.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS, IELTS Online): academic minimum score of 6.5 with no band score below 6.0.
