Our doctoral program in History is offered through the Tri-University Graduate Program in History, a collaborative initiative between Laurier, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Guelph. This partnership grants you access to over 65 faculty members' expertise and the combined resources of three institutions.
By merging history departments, we've created one of Canada's largest graduate history programs while maintaining the intimate class sizes and supportive academic relationships characteristic of Laurier's History department.
The program is structured for completion within four years of full-time enrollment, blending seminar courses, presentations, examinations, and teaching opportunities. These components ensure continuous engagement with your advisory committee, integrating their guidance throughout your academic journey.
Career Development
Unique aspects of our curriculum include a professional development seminar in the first year and the chance to present dissertation segments in a scholarly colloquium.
