The project-focused MSc curriculum addresses the increasing industry need for skilled practical geologists. Students in this program play a vital role in Resource Geoscience Western, a collaborative initiative with industry partners that positions us as leaders in Canadian Earth Sciences across multiple applied disciplines.
Our thesis-oriented MSc program equips emerging researchers with independent study skills, guiding them through problem identification, data gathering, method development, literature analysis, and thesis composition. This comprehensive approach serves as the foundation for mastering research methodologies, complemented by graduate coursework featuring lectures, labs, projects, papers, and seminars.
