Western University's Master's in Foods and Nutrition (MScFN) presents two distinct pathways: a practicum-focused project track and a research-oriented thesis track. Both options involve rigorous graduate coursework and leadership development, while building research expertise through either a capstone project (for practicum students) or thesis work (for research students).

Practicum Track - This intensive, year-long PDEP-accredited program prepares graduates for the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination, leading to Registered Dietitian (RD) certification. Participants engage in advanced studies while collaborating with faculty advisors on significant research initiatives.

Thesis Track - This research-intensive path culminates in a Master of Science degree, emphasizing scholarly investigation through specialized coursework and thesis development. Students receive mentorship from faculty supervisors throughout their research journey. Note: This option does not qualify graduates for RD certification in Canada.
