The Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art provides education in modern visual arts, equipping graduates for professional roles as artists and curators. It also readies them for doctoral studies and various positions within galleries, museums, and other art-related fields. The program blends critical theory with hands-on studio art training. During the initial term, both MA and MFA candidates participate in a shared art theory foundation course, fostering interaction and teamwork. Participants refine their research and studio skills through intimate seminar-style classes.

A BFA or Honours BA degree in visual arts with a minimum B standing Students with a studio concentration in a Bachelors program will also be considered if they can demonstrate significant experience and accomplishments in the field It is preferred that students also have a minimum of three full courses or equivalent in art history including modern contemporary and Canadian art Students must submit a sample of written work of at least 1000 words In addition we require photographic video or digital documentation of studio practice accompanied by a description of the work
