The one-year Master of Arts in Art History and Curatorial Studies provides specialized education in art and visual culture history and theory. This full-time program spans three consecutive terms (fall, winter, summer) and offers two academic pathways: coursework-focused or thesis-based. Graduates gain qualifications for pursuing doctoral studies or professional roles in museums, galleries, and arts organizations. During the initial term, all MA and MFA candidates jointly enroll in a foundational art theory and research methods course, fostering dialogue between historical and contemporary viewpoints. Subsequent studies involve intensive seminar classes, fulfillment of a second language requirement, optional internship placements, and completion of either a substantial research paper or thesis, determined by the chosen academic track.
