The Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics is a professional track within the Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition (BScFN) degree, administered by Brescia University College. Students can enroll through either Brescia University College or the Faculty of Science.
This program holds accreditation from the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) and equips graduates to apply for dietetic practicum programs, which are necessary for becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO). The curriculum aligns with the Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education (ICDEP) at the undergraduate level, as mandated by PDEP. Note that completing this Honors Specialization does not ensure acceptance into a dietetic practicum program. Admission to this specialized track is competitive, and meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee entry for transfer students.
Graduates may also advance to postgraduate studies in fields like Nutritional Sciences, Health Administration, Food Science, Food Safety, or Public Health. Early academic advising at Brescia is recommended, particularly for students considering pairing this Honors Specialization with a complementary Major or Minor.
