This unique Canadian program equips students for leadership roles across diverse music industry sectors, including music publishing, instrument production, arts administration, recorded music distribution, electronic music equipment manufacturing, and music product marketing. Financial support for the MAS program is provided through generous contributions from Universal Music Canada, Warner Music Canada, and the Music Industries Association of Canada.
The interdisciplinary degree, collaboratively delivered by the Department of Music Research and Composition and the Faculty of Social Science's Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) program, merges essential components from both disciplines to foster a comprehensive music management education. The curriculum foundation consists of 8.5 MOS courses and 7.5 music courses, supplemented by 4.0 elective courses (typically completed as eight half-term courses), enabling students to tailor their studies and develop specialized knowledge in specific areas of interest.
