The flexible degree program allows you to mix and match subjects across multiple departments and faculties. The following diagram illustrates module combinations available for three degree options: Honors Bachelor, 4-Year Bachelor, and 3-Year Bachelor. For example, pursuing a 4-year Honors Bachelor could mean specializing in Biology while minoring in another Science field or even an unrelated discipline like Philosophy. Many students opt for an Honors Bachelor with a double major - pairing two Science majors or combining Science with Arts. Western University offers countless potential module combinations.
Biology Department modules currently include Animal Behavior, Biodiversity and Conservation, General Biology, Ecosystem Health, Genetics, and Genetics with Biochemistry.
All Biology programs share twelve core learning objectives that students must achieve before graduating. Beyond mastering biological principles, the curriculum enhances written and verbal communication abilities while providing hands-on research experience.
