VIU's two-year Tourism diploma blends classroom learning with practical, paid co-op experiences. Hospitality and tourism students gain expertise in sustainability, marketing, risk management, diversity, and event coordination - equipping them with skills to pursue various roles within the tourism sector.
This program follows a compulsory Co-operative Education structure, featuring four academic terms and two paid work placements.
This program emphasizes creating recreational experiences for both local and international travelers. It examines tourism's effects on people, communities, and ecosystems to establish sustainable tourism approaches. Key aspects include practical skill development, leadership opportunities, the co-op employment model, and personalized instruction.
